The fascination with Netflix shows in the wedding industry is apparent and appreciated. We aren’t gonna lie — we’re totally here for this trend! If we can’t get enough of it after binging 12+ hours, why shouldn’t we bring it to the real world???
This styled shoot took inspiration from both Bridgerton and Emily in Paris. We chose models who represented real people while blending in fashion elements like puffy-sleeved dresses, hair bows, and monochromatic color schemes. Each model had their own look but fit flawlessly together as a group.
The gowns from Virginia’s Daughter Bridal Boutique varied in color, style, and size to fit the personality of the model in them. We based each model’s makeup and hairstyle on their attire. All models had their hair done by Citrine Bride, an eco-friendly-based hairstyling company, and all the female models received makeup services by Makeup by Myiah to pull their looks together.
Jewelry from Lorak Jewelry and Night & Daye Studio stood out in color and boldness and fit together seamlessly. While these jewelry makers have different styles and rock on their own, they offer a stunning fresh perspective alongside each other.
The Pinner House, a historic boutique bed & breakfast and private event venue in Suffolk, VA, was the perfect backdrop; each corner of the house and the grounds supplied a clean and neutral canvas. The soft, delicate nature of the grounds made the models stand out in photography by Cat Deline & Team and videography by Dragon Photo Studio.
The combination of items from The Collection by Courtney Inghram and Waterford Event Rentals is a match made in wedding heaven – or however that saying goes! Either way, they make magic together. The bud vases from Studio Posy along with a table number from Pop & Pandy LLC all worked harmoniously together. The bouquet, centerpiece, and various signs around the Pinner House Property upped the ante even more. We used elements of blues and gold to make a cohesive look and emphasize the intimate garden wedding look and feel.
Two elements that aren’t always necessary at a styled shoot are the desserts and the alcohol, but they fit in our vision so beautifully we had to have them! Cupcakes and meringue cookies from The Pink Box brought our Netflix-series-inspired mood into place and Sipping Southern brought that fun botanical wedding element to the mix.
The stationery from Mulberry Paper Co. reflected the simply elegant pieces of the shoot with a soft purple-gray script font on a ripped edge invitation plus an embossed pink couple’s initial invitation with a floral envelope liner so sophisticated you could cry.
As an earth-conscious wedding planner, I’m often asked what actually makes a wedding eco-friendly. I wanted to include elements of sustainability in weddings, but not make them overpowering. The fact of the matter is when the average wedding produces 400 tons of garbage and emits 63 tons of carbon dioxide into the planet, whatever action you take to remedy that will help. Using signs over paper products is one option, or finding ethically and sustainably sourced paper, or finding vendors that share your values. The easiest way to have an eco-friendly wedding is to find what works for you!
All these vendors worked together to produce jaw-dropping art that followed a specific style but allowed them to express themselves creatively and to bring out the best in each other! Thanks to all the vendors who participated!
